West Indies fast bowler Alzarri Joseph has been added to the Quetta Gladiators squad for the upcoming Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 11, the franchise confirmed on Monday.
According to the team management, Joseph has been included in the squad as a replacement for Australian pacer Spencer Johnson, who will miss the tournament due to personal reasons.
The Gladiators had earlier secured Johnson through a direct signing. However, his unavailability forced the franchise to make a change ahead of the new PSL season.
With Joseph’s inclusion, Quetta Gladiators aim to strengthen their pace attack as they prepare for the highly anticipated tournament.
Team officials stated that Johnson had earlier been signed directly by the Gladiators, but he will not be able to participate in this year’s PSL campaign.
With Johnson’s withdrawal, the franchise moved quickly to secure the services of Joseph, one of the leading fast bowlers from the West Indies, to strengthen their pace attack ahead of the new season.
The Pakistan Super League’s 11th edition is expected to feature strong competition among the franchises, with teams finalising their squads ahead of the tournament.
On the other hand, tickets for the 11th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL 11) will go on sale from Tuesday.
How to buy tickets for PSL 11?
Fans will be able to buy tickets online through the TCS website. TCS has been appointed as the official ticketing partner for the tournament, according to the details.
This season will be the first time matches are played across six venues. A total of eight teams will compete in the tournament.
Pakistan Super League season 11 will begin on March 26 in Lahore. Defending champions Lahore Qalandars will face Hyderabad Houston Kingsmen in the opening match.
PSL 11 may introduce digital ticketing system
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is considering introducing a digital ticketing system for some enclosures during the upcoming edition of the PSL.
