Iran’s security chief and the Iranian Supreme National Security Council’s secretary, Ali Larijani, have been martyred in the Israeli strikes.
The news of his martyrdom has been confirmed by the Iranian media.
Ali Larijani was martyred along with his son Mortaza while he was in eastern Tehran, following strikes conducted by the Zionist state of Israel and the US.
The news of his death has also been confirmed on his X account, saying that a man of god has joined his god as a martyr now.
The post said:
Dear and proud nation of Iran!
To the Muslim peoples and the free people of the world:
“A servant of God has joined God.”
Indeed, a servant among the servants of God has reached his Lord as a martyr.
He is the second most senior person killed after Syed Ali Khamenei.
The death of the commander of Iran’s internal Basij military, Gholamreza Soleimani, has already been confirmed by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
The Iranian President, Masoud Pezeshkian, paid tribute to Larijani, describing him as a prominent and valuable figure.
He said Larijani had rendered services in various key positions and possessed wide-ranging experience.
The president noted that Larijani had played an important role in efforts to promote peace and security in the region.
Israeli forces had earlier claimed they killed Ali Larijani in a successful strike.
The reports, which were initially unconfirmed by state media, have now been officially confirmed.
The funeral prayer for Martyr Ali Larijani and Commander Gholamreza Soleimani will be held together on Wednesday, with the entire Iranian leadership participating enthusiastically, and a large number of people from the public are also expected to attend.
A day before his death, he also paid tribute to the martyrs of war in a writing.
As per the post on X, he said:
“On the occasion of the funeral ceremony for the brave personnel of the Navy of the Islamic Republic of Iran, their memory will always remain in the hearts of the Iranian nation, and these martyrdoms will strengthen the foundation of the Islamic Republic Army for years within the structure of the armed forces. I pray to Almighty God for the highest ranks in paradise for these dear martyrs.”
