Pakistani actress Zubab Rana made it clear that the assumptions around the viral video on social media with Babar Azam, the former captain of the national cricket team, are not based on reality.
Zubab Rana, while giving clarification in a Ramzan transmission in response to a question by the host Javeria Saud, said that nothing like what is being circulated on social media happened between me and Babar Azam.
When I saw this video all these things seemed pretty artificial to me. I did not understand what part of the video was being used to make such assumptions.
It is worth mentioning that last year there was a video of Zubab Rana and Babar Azam at an event that went viral on social media.
In the viral video, as Babar Azam was seen with awkward facial expressions and the movement of his eyes were also awkward, it became a subject of curiosity amongst the fans.
Some users told Babar Azam to control his emotions while others accused his style of being flirty and that maybe he wants to be Zubab Rana’s hairstylist.
In another recent development the former Pakistani captain Mohammad Hafeez proposed potential replacements for Babar Azam.
The proposed replacements are Abdullah Shafique and Shan Masood. The former captain posted on X that the No 3 position is very important and the team management should be ready for replacements in case Babar Azam is injured.
The ODI record of Shan Masood is modest, he has had limited appearances in ODIs yet. What stands out is his List A performance. He has an average exceeding 50 with over 6400 runs.
Masood hence is a strong candidate for Babar Azam’s replacement due to his consistency in domestic cricket. He can help stabilise the middle order under pressure due to his experience in longer formats.
