Lahore Qalandars has replaced a player ahead of the 2026 Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 11, as Shahab Khan joins the squad as a replacement to the fast bowler Ali Shabbir.

Lahore Qalandars have made a change to their squad ahead of the PSL 11, after young fast bowler Ali Shabbir was ruled out with an injury.

Shahab Khan named as replacement

The franchise has brought in left-arm pacer Shahab Khan as a replacement of the fast bowler.

Shahab recently performed well in the National T20 tournament, finishing as the second-highest wicket-taker with 13 wickets in five matches.

According to a post on X, Lahore Qalandars have officially welcomed Shahab Khan in the squad.

The post said:

“Shahab Khan is officially a Qalandar! The left-arm pacer, who was the second-highest wicket taker (13 in 5 matches) of the recently held National T20 tournament, will be joining LQ in place of Ali Shabbir who has been ruled out due to injury.”

He is a left-arm pacer and possesses quite good qualities as a bowler.

The franchise confirmed that Shabbir sustained a right-hand injury while fielding for Bahawalpur during the National T20 Cup.

Medical tests later showed a fracture, and he has been advised to rest for four to six weeks.

Shabbir had been selected in the Under-23 category and was considered one of the promising players in the squad.

He also took part in the team’s conditioning camp at the Qalandars High Performance Centre in Islamabad, where the injury was further assessed.

A product of the Qalandars Player Development Programme, he featured in the 2025 edition and had been seen as a player to watch for the upcoming season.

Season set to begin later this month

The Pakistan Super League (PSL 11) is scheduled to run from March 26 to May 3, with eight teams taking part this season.

Lahore Qalandars are due to begin their title defence on March 26 against Hyderabad Houston Kingsmen.
