Islamabad Traffic Police is set to receive a new uniform along with modern electric SUVs as part of efforts to upgrade the capital’s traffic management system.
According to reports, the revised uniform will feature a black and grey color scheme and will be rolled out in two phases. In the first phase, office staff will be issued the new attire, while field personnel will receive it in the second phase.
In addition to the uniform change, authorities are introducing state-of-the-art electric SUVs to the traffic police fleet. Around a dozen of these vehicles, developed by a Chinese company, are equipped with advanced technology aimed at improving efficiency and traffic control.
The new electric vehicles are expected to be deployed on major roads in Islamabad during Eid, with the goal of facilitating smoother traffic flow and providing better travel convenience for citizens.
Traffic police to get new uniform in Punjab
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz earlier approved a new uniform for the Lahore Traffic Police and the official notification has been issued.
In the first phase the uniform change has been implemented in Lahore. The notification said that in the second phase the uniforms will be updated in Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Multan and Rawalpindi districts and in the third phase other districts across the province will receive the new traffic police uniform.
Mohsin Naqvi announces residential plots for police officers
Earlier the Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited the National Police Foundation (NPF) and chaired a high-level meeting to review its performance and welfare initiatives.
The acting Managing Director briefed the minister on ongoing projects and institutional progress.
Key decisions included providing residential plots to ASPs under training at the National Police Academy on easy annual installments. Each year, 10 inspectors, sub-inspectors, and ASIs from across the country will be selected for overseas training courses.
The NPF will also bear education expenses for the children of 15 constables admitted to top universities.
Additionally, five SP/SSP officers will receive annual foreign scholarships for AI degree programs. The minister sought a comprehensive plan to enhance NPF resources and praised the team for turning the foundation from deficit to surplus, Saying that the goal of making NPF a dynamic and effective police welfare institution. Senior NPF officials attended the meeting.
