During their recent meeting, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir and Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the former Supreme Leader of Iran, expressed mutual respect and cordiality.
Ayatollah Khamenei told the Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, “I am also a son of Ali (AS), and you are too, son of Ali (AS). This reflects the closeness, respect, and spirit of Muslim unity between us.”
In the same meeting, Ayatollah Khamenei praised Field Marshal Asim Munir for his role in Operation Bunyan um Marsoos.
He said that the Muslim Ummah can now take pride in how he courageously and strategically faced the enemy.
He added that the Field Marshal Asim Munir was not only confronting them but also defeating them despite the challenges.
Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei martyred in US strike
The Supreme Leader of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, was martyred in the strikes conducted by the United States (US), according to the Iranian state media report on March 1.
Iranian state media reported that Khamenei “was carrying out his assigned duties and was present at his workplace (his office)”.
“This cowardly attack occurred in the early hours of Saturday morning”, state media further stated.
Prior to this, the President of the US, Donald Trump, had said that Iran’s Supreme Leader Khamenei had been killed in strikes.
In addition to this, a 40 day long public mourning was announced in Iran according to the state media reports, after the Supreme Leaders martydom.

‘Khamenei, one of the most evil people in History, is dead,’ Trump said on the social media platform Truth Social at the time.
Trump further added that, ‘this is not only Justice for the people of Iran, but for all Great Americans, and those people from many Countries throughout the World, that have been killed or mutilated by Khamenei and his gang of bloodthirsty THUGS.’
Trump added that the Supreme Leader of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, was unable to avoid the intelligence and Highly Sophisticated Tracking Systems of the US.
He added that there was not a thing he, or the other leaders who have been killed along with him, could do working closely with Israel.
