A latest ranking released by the World Cricketers Association has reshaped the global hierarchy of franchise T20 cricket leagues, with England’s The Hundred emerging as the top-ranked competition.
According to the players’ body, The Hundred secured first place with 75.2 points, narrowly edging past South Africa’s SA20, also referred to as SAT20 League, which finished in second place with 68 points. The rankings highlight the growing competitiveness among global T20 leagues, with marginal differences separating the top contenders.
Australia’s Big Bash League (BBL) followed closely in fourth place, reflecting its continued competitiveness among top-tier T20 competitions.
The Pakistan Super League (PSL) secured the fifth position with 48 points, maintaining its reputation as one of the leading leagues globally. Behind it, Major League Cricket (MLC) ranked sixth, followed by the International League T20 (ILT20) in seventh place.
Further down the list, the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) was placed eighth, while the Abu Dhabi T10 League came in ninth. Rounding out the top ten was the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).
The rankings highlight a growing competitiveness among newer and regional leagues, while also suggesting that traditional powerhouses like the IPL continue to face increasing pressure to evolve in terms of overall quality and player experience.
On the other hand, Hyderabad Kings captain Marnus Labuschagne said he is eager to lead the Hyderabad team in PSL Season 11.
