Rain turns weather pleasant in Lahore; showers to continue

Rain weather Lahore

Light to heavy rain swept across several parts of Lahore on Wednesday, turning the weather pleasant, bringing cooler temperatures and a visible improvement in air quality.

Showers across the city

Rain was reported in areas including Iqbal Town, Gulberg, Shalimar Link Road, and Khayaban-e-Jamia Punjab Road, along with nearby neighbourhoods.

The rainfall provided relief after a spell of dry and warm weather.

Residents reported a drop in temperature and a fresher atmosphere following the showers.

Roads in some areas were wet, but no major disruption was immediately reported.

Cooler temperatures recorded

The temperature in the city was recorded at around 24°C, with light winds of about 8 km/h.

Humidity levels stood near 45%, contributing to the more comfortable conditions.

Weather officials say the maximum temperature is likely to reach around 30°C, while the minimum could fall to 19°C over the next day.

Rain expected to continue

The Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecast intermittent rain over the next 24 hours.

Meteorologists say the current weather system is expected to remain active, bringing occasional showers and keeping temperatures relatively mild.

Air quality improves

Air quality in Lahore has also shown some improvement following the rain.

The city’s Air Quality Index (AQI) was recorded at around 110, indicating moderate conditions and a reduction in pollution levels compared to previous days.

Experts say rainfall often helps clear dust and pollutants from the air, though the effect can be temporary if dry conditions return.

Weather officials expect the present system to continue influencing conditions in the city in the coming hours.

Periodic rainfall may help maintain cooler weather and slightly better air quality in the short term.
