Traffic police in Lahore have completed arrangements for the first match of Pakistan Super League (PSL 11) bringing reassurance to the concerned citizens about road closures.
Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Athar Waheed said that not a single major road of the city will be closed permanently during the event.
Instead, authorities hope to keep everything running smoothly with minor and temporary interruptions around match time.
To efficiently manage the situation, some 900 traffic personnel will be deployed in key areas of the city.
Major arteries like Mall Road, Jail road and Canal road will remain open so that daily commuters will not go through much inconvenience despite the high profile sporting event.
The first match of PSL 11 is scheduled at Gaddafi Stadium where the defending champions, the Lahore Qalandars will be playing the newly introduced franchise – Hyderabad Kingsmen.
However, in keeping with the government’s austerity measures the match will be held without spectators.
This decision has been a disappointment to both players and fans alike, with team captains collectively expressing their regret at the lack of crowd support, whilst staying optimistic about a competitive tournament.
Meanwhile, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced a detailed ticket refunding policy for those fans who had already bought tickets.
Board also says all ticket holders who bought tickets online will automatically receive refunds through the methods of payment.
These include debit/credit cards, and digital wallets like JazzCash, and Easypaisa.
The automated refund system will ensure a smooth and hassle-free process without the need for manual claims or complaints, said the PCB.
The refund process has been scheduled to start on March 30, 2026 with completion expected to happen in the next 15 working days, to provide refunds and convenience to the affected fans.
