PM President Field Marshal stress unity in high-level meeting

A high-level meeting has taken place at the President’s House, which was attended by President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Army Chief Syed Asim Munir.

The country’s top leadership discussed the current situation in the Middle East and Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts to end the war between Iran and the US.

President Asif Ali Zardari chaired the high-level meeting, and multiple senior ministers also attended the meeting, including Mohsin Naqvi and the Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb.  

According to the media report, the top leadership reviewed the economic, energy and regional situation amid oil and gas supply concerns, and stressed coordination, austerity, fuel conservation and public relief.   

What did President Zardari say in meeting?

According to the sources, President Asif Ali Zardari confirmed that Pakistan is ready to play its role to end the ongoing tensions in the region. The President also said that Pakistan is ready to play a positive role in ending tensions not only in neighbouring countries but also in the world.

Who else joined the high-level meeting?

It is pertinent to mention that Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar also joined the meeting. During the meeting, President Zardari stressed the need to reduce the government expenses amid regional tensions in the neighbouring country.

President Zardari on petrol prices

The top leadership, including President Asif Ali Zardari Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, also reviewed the petrol prices in the country.

During the meeting, the top leadership also discussed in detail the country’s security, economic situation, and the energy crisis, while the Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif took President Zardari into confidence about Pakistan’s role in the Middle East situation.
