NADRA has expanded access to its services by adding 1,000 more e-Sahulat franchises across the country.
A spokesperson said citizens can now access these facilities at nearly 3,000 e-Sahulat centres nationwide. Services include issuance of B-Forms for children under 10, CNIC renewals, duplicate cards for lost IDs, and cancellation of identity cards of deceased individuals.
These services are now available in Islamabad and major cities such as Karachi, Lahore, Hyderabad, Peshawar, and Quetta, along with numerous districts across Sindh, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
This will improve public access to essential registration services while easing the workload at NADRA offices by bringing facilities closer to people.
NADRA issues strict warning over expired CNICs
National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) earlier issued a warning to citizens whose Computerised National Identity Cards (CNICs) have expired.
NADRA, the only authorised institution in Pakistan entrusted with the responsibility of issuance of legal identity documents to Pakistani’s within the country & overseas have urged such persons to act immediately.
According to an official statement, CNICs should be renewed by the citizens with expired CNICs on an urgent basis or their B-Form should be converted into a CNIC without any delay.
Additionally, parents whose children have not been registered so far are advised to get a B-Form for them as soon as possible.
NADRA further stated that it is due to complete all these steps before June 30, 2026, in order to avoid any possible additional fees or penalties.
These directives have been passed under Section 30(1)(e) of the NADRA Ordinance, 2000.
NADRA announces new facility, get CNIC without birth certificates
In a separate development, NADRA has announced an important initiative to facilitate citizens who lack birth certificates, allowing them to obtain a Computerised National Identity Card (CNIC) under specific conditions.
According to NADRA, the conditional facility for first-time registration will remain effective until December 31, 2026.
Under this arrangement, applicants’ identities will be verified through alternative methods instead of a birth certificate.
For married women aged 18 years or above, possession of a Nikahnama will be mandatory. Additionally, the CNICs of the father or mother and husband must already be issued along with their biometric verification. These conditions will not apply to unmarried women.
In the case of men aged 24 years or above the CNICs of either parent and at least one sibling must be available.
Biometric verification of at least one parent will be mandatory. If both parents and the husband are deceased but records exist in NADRA’s system, biometric verification may be exempted
