Playing at Gaddafi Stadium, Multan Sultans successfully chased the target of 172 runs set by Islamabad United, reaching it in the 19th over with the loss of five wickets.
Josh Philippe played a brilliant innings of 55 runs, which included five fours and two sixes.
Captain Ashton Turner remained unbeaten on 42 runs off 27 balls. Steve Smith scored 31 runs, while Arafat Minhas was dismissed for 25. Shan Masood managed just 6 runs.
For Islamabad United, Shadab Khan and Salman Irshad took two wickets each. Earlier, Islamabad United scored 171 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in their allotted overs, setting Multan Sultans a target of 172 runs to win.
Mark Chapman played an innings of 40 runs off 21 balls, including three fours and two sixes. Sameer Minhas scored 28, while Devon Conway contributed 26 runs.
Captain Shadab Khan was dismissed for 4 runs, Haider Ali scored 13, and Imad Wasim made 8. Faheem Ashraf was dismissed by Mohammad Wasim Jr after scoring 26 runs.
For Multan Sultans, Momin Qamar took three wickets. Mohammad Wasim Jr claimed two wickets, while Arafat Minhas, Peter Siddle, and Mohammad Nawaz picked up one wicket each.
In a high-stakes clash at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, Multan Sultans elected to field after winning the toss, allowing Islamabad United to bat first.
United posted 171/8 in 20 overs, led by Mark Champion’s 40, with Sameer Minhas adding 28 and Faheem Ashraf contributing 26.
Momin Qamar starred with the ball for Multan, taking 3 wickets, while Muhammad Wasim chipped in with 2 wickets to keep the game tight.
