The Punjab Education Department has announced that all schools in the province will now remain closed on Fridays, according to a notification issued on Wednesday.
Punjab new weekly holiday schedule
According to an official notification, schools will operate from Monday to Thursday. The Friday holiday will apply to both government and private schools.

Punjab school timings
Under the new schedule, school hours from Monday to Thursday will be from 8:00 AM to 1:30 PM.
For the schools that run in two shifts, the first shift will take place from 8:00 AM to 12:30 PM. The second shift will run from 1:00 PM to 5:30 PM.
Schools across Punjab reopened on April 1 after being closed from March 10 to March 31 and shifted on online classes.
The closure followed federal measures aimed at saving fuel after global oil prices rose due to the ongoing conflict involving the United States (US), Israel, and Iran.

New timings announced for schools: all provinces
Yesterday, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) issued a new timetable for government schools. In primary schools, attendance will start at 7:30 AM, and students will leave at 1:35 PM.
Morning assemblies will include moral training, speeches on different topics, and practical activities in KP.
In Punjab, Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat announced that all schools will reopen from April 1.
According to reports, schools will operate from 8:00 AM to 1:30 PM until further notice in Punjab.
In Balochistan, a notification has been issued to reopen all public and private schools from April 1.
Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon announced that teaching activities in all educational institutions in Sindh will resume from April 1.
Schools, colleges, and universities will reopen for physical classes instead of online learning.
The education department in Gilgit Baltistan (GB) also confirmed that all public and private schools will reopen from April 1.
Similarly, in the federal capital too, Islamabad, all private schools and colleges will resume classes from April 1.
