Traffic conditions in several parts of Karachi were affected following rainfall on Thursday, with heavy congestion reported on major roads across the city. Traffic police officials remained on the roads to ensure smooth traffic flow and assist commuters during the rainy weather.
According to the traffic police, significant traffic pressure was observed in Defence, Qayyumabad, Shahrah-e-Faisal, and areas surrounding Millennium Mall. The situation worsened during office hours as an increased number of vehicles led to severe congestion on key arteries.
Traffic authorities stated that personnel have been deployed at major intersections and highways to manage vehicle movement, while commuters are being redirected through alternative routes to minimise inconvenience.
The traffic police have advised citizens to drive carefully during rainfall, avoid unnecessary travel, and contact the traffic helpline in case of emergencies. Officials added that continuous efforts are underway across the city to maintain traffic flow and reduce disruptions caused by the rain.
Earlier, the Met Office forecasted rain with thunderstorms in Karachi and other districts of Sindh today.

The Met Office also predicts rainfall in Punjab, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Gilgit Baltistan (GB), and Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) starting today.
