Flash floods in Balochistan leave 7 dead, several injured

As many as seven people have died, and several others have been injured due to rain and flooding in various districts of Balochistan.

The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued a report on the damage caused by the rains and floods. According to the report, the casualties were reported in the districts of Harnai, Kohlu, Turbat, Jaffarabad, Loralai and Kachhi.

The report further states that around 100 houses were destroyed and 50 livestock were killed after an embankment collapsed in Bala Nadi. Additionally, 400 acres of agricultural land were submerged in the same area.

The Director General of PDMA said that approximately 100 houses were damaged in Harnai and Qila Abdullah. Meanwhile, the Gandawah–Natal road was closed due to flash flooding in Jhal Magsi.

On the other hand, five people died in Karachi due to electrocution and rain-related accidents.

According to media reports, a man identified as Sartaj died after being electrocuted inside his home in the New Karachi Hassan Brohi Goth area.

Rescue officials reported that another man, Abdul Wali, was electrocuted near a hotel in PIB Colony. Meanwhile, a rickshaw driver named Irshad lost his life when a house wall collapsed in Old Golimar. A 12-year-old girl, Dua, was electrocuted at her home in Surjani Town Sector 7A.

In a separate incident, Shahabuddin also died after being electrocuted in Ahsanabad Sector 3.
