Pakistanis to get free six-month visa to Sri Lanka: check here

Pakistanis will soon be able to get a six-month free tourist visa to Sri Lanka under a new plan to boost tourism.

The Sri Lankan cabinet approved the program on July 21, 2025. It will allow passport holders from 39 countries, including Pakistan, India, China, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, the UK, and the US, to enter visa-free.

Cabinet spokesman Nalinda Jayatissa said draft rules have been prepared and will go to parliament after formal approval.

The program is expected to help Sri Lanka’s tourism sector grow by attracting more visitors.

Travellers will be able to stay up to six months, giving them more time for leisure and exploration.

This move is part of Sri Lanka’s wider strategy to promote tourism and strengthen international ties.

UAE announces huge visa relief

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has relaxed visa restrictions for Pakistani nationals amid rising regional tensions, according to reports on Sunday.

The move is expected to create new opportunities for work and investment.

Many Pakistanis who previously faced long visa delays are now travelling to Dubai and Abu Dhabi to join family businesses, start ventures, or look for jobs.

Reports also indicate that slower economic activity in parts of the Gulf has reduced prices of vehicles, property, and commercial assets.

This has made it easier for Pakistani investors to explore business opportunities at lower costs.

Experts say the situation offers a good chance for Pakistanis to gain professional experience while markets remain affordable.

The easing of visa rules is partly linked to changing regional conditions.

Qatar suspends visa on arrival temporarily

Qatar has temporarily suspended the visa-on-arrival facility for Pakistani citizens, according to reports on Tuesday.

The decision was taken due to the current regional situation.

The Pakistani embassy has advised citizens to obtain a valid visa before travelling to Qatar.

It warned that passengers arriving without a visa may be denied entry or sent back from the airport.
