In the 10th match of Pakistan Super League (PSL 11), Karachi Kings defeated Rawalpindi by 5 wickets, securing a hat-trick of victories.
The match played at Gaddafi Stadium, Karachi Kings successfully chased the target of 198 runs set by Pindiz, losing 5 wickets in the final over. Azam Khan played a match-winning innings of 74 runs off 34 balls, while captain David Warner contributed 50 runs. Salman Ali Agha also added 29 runs. Mohammad Wasim was dismissed for 23 runs, while Moeen Ali managed to score only 5 runs.
For Rawalpindi, Daryl Mitchell took three wickets, while Naseem Shah and Mohammad Amir claimed one wicket each.
Earlier, Pindiz scored 197 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in their allotted overs, setting a target of 198 runs for Karachi Kings. Daryl Mitchell’s innings of 65 runs off 41 balls went in vain. Sam Billings scored 58 runs, while captain Mohammad Rizwan was dismissed for 21. Kamran Ghulam and Yasir Khan were both dismissed after scoring 10 runs each.
For Karachi Kings, Hasan Ali took three wickets, Khushdil Shah claimed two, and Mir Hamza picked up one wicket. Karachi Kings captain David Warner won the toss and chose to field first, inviting Mohammad Rizwan’s side to bat.
Karachi Kings’ playing XI included David Warner, Mohammad Wasim, Salman Agha, Saad Baig, Moeen Ali, Khushdil Shah, Azam Khan, Abbas Afridi, Hasan Ali, Adam Zampa, and Mir Hamza.
Rawalpindi’s team consisted of Mohammad Rizwan, Yasir Shah, Abdullah Fazal, Kamran Ghulam, Sam Billings, Daryl Mitchell, Cole McConchie, Rashid Hussain, Naseem Shah, Mohammad Amir, and Mohammad Amir Khan.
Karachi Kings have won their first two matches of PSL 11, while Rawalpindi lost their opening match. In the previous match, Islamabad United defeated Quetta Gladiators by 8 wickets. Shadab Khan was named Player of the Match for his outstanding all-round performance.
