The recent rain in Karachi has turned its weather pleasant, as it still feels like December even in April.
According to media reports, rain turned the weather cold in various areas, including Baldia, Moach Goth, Nazimabad and Orangi Town, while rain was also recorded in Liaquatabad, Golimar, Gulshan-e-Iqbal and Water Pump areas.
Rain accompanied by strong winds and thunder in Surjani Town surprised the citizens, while clouds also fell heavily on Lyari, Saddar, MA Jinnah Road and Chandrigar Road II.
Emergency halt in Railway operations
Due to the heavy rain in Karachi, the Railways has taken an emergency decision and provided additional stops to all trains going to the country.
An important step has been taken on the special instructions of Divisional Superintendent Karachi Mahmood-ur-Rehman Lakho.
Trains will have a special stop of two minutes each at Drug Road and Landhi stations.
Temporary stops have been implemented for the convenience of passengers.
The railway administration is active to facilitate travel during the rains. Railway authorities are taking steps to provide timely facilities to passengers.
PMD rain prediction
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has released a weather forecast indicating that Sindh, Balochistan, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) will be receiving heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms within the next 24 hours.
Punjab, Gilgit Baltistan, and Kashmir, on the other hand, will witness rainfall mostly in the evening and nighttime.
The Met Office has cautioned that there will be heavy rain, which is likely to cause flash floods in the northeastern parts of Balochistan, such as Zhob, Musakhel, and Dera Bugti.
Dera Ghazi Khan is also expected to receive heavy torrents, and the local streams in southern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa might overflow because of heavy rainfall.
