According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister (FM) Ishaq Dar held a telephone conversation with Iranian Foreign Minister (FM) Abbas Araghchi to discuss the evolving regional situation on Sunday.
During the call, both leaders exchanged views on recent developments and emphasised the need for restraint amid rising tensions.
Pakistan reaffirmed its support for diplomatic efforts to reduce tensions in the region again, following a high level contact between senior officials of Pakistan and Iran.
Dar reiterated Pakistan’s support for all efforts aimed at de escalation. He stressed that issues should be resolved through dialogue and diplomacy.
The two sides also agreed to remain in close contact as the situation continues, the Foreign Office said.
The conversation took place in Islamabad on April 5, 2026.

Bahrain FM appreciates Pakistan’s role
FM Ishaq Dar held a telephone conversation on Saturday with Bahrain’s Foreign Minister, Dr Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani.
During the call, the two leaders discussed the latest developments in the region.
Senator Ishaq Dar stressed the urgent need for de-escalation and highlighted the importance of dialogue and diplomacy.
He also referred to the Pakistan China five point initiative aimed at promoting peace and stability in the Middle East and the Gulf region.
Foreign Minister Al Zayani appreciated Pakistan’s efforts to support dialogue and promote regional peace and stability.

Separately, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has rejected misleading commentary on UAE financial deposits held with the State Bank. It also reaffirms a strong partnership with the Emirates.
