In the most recent update (5.5.7) of its Pak ID mobile application, the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has introduced two new modern features to enhance services to citizens.

These new features are passport capture and upload capability, as well as faster biometric verification, to make the application process easy and quick.

Key Enhancements

Global Access:

The updated app has allowed citizens of 193 countries to make applications more conveniently regarding any type of visa.

Automated Data Entry:

The users have the option of adding a passport image or taking it directly with the help of the camera of the app. The system will automatically harvest crucial information like the name of the applicant, passport number and expiry date, eliminating manual entries.

Advanced Biometric Verification:

Version 5.5.7 adds a special biometric verification section and makes facial recognition a seamless experience with all types of applications.

These features can be availed to the users through updating the Pak ID app or downloading the latest version in the Google Play Store or Apple App Store to enhance a faster and more efficient digital experience.

In the meantime, NADRA has equally published a list of over 3,000 e-Sahulat franchises which have been established in Pakistan in order to support the citizens.

It also provides information on the owners of the franchise and the representatives said that these centres are offering various services such as issuance and renewal of Computerised National Identity Cards (CNICs) and other related services.

Child registration certificates B-Forms (parental registration of children below the age of 10) can also be obtained, and cancellation of CNICs of the deceased can be done in these centres.

The initiative will especially help people living in remote locations, according to the authorities, who will now enjoy access to the necessary NADRA services without necessarily going to major offices.
