Preparations for US Iran peace talks

Security arrangements are being made along with other preparations in the capital, looking forward to the US-Iran peace talks.

According to a spokesperson for Islamabad Police, traffic diversions will be put in place on the Srinagar Highway due to the movement of foreign delegations.

Citizens have been asked to allow extra time for travel and to exercise patience. Islamabad Traffic Police officials will be present on the roads to guide citizens.

For more information, citizens can refer to the Traffic Police’s WhatsApp channel and social media platforms.

Islamabad is set to host Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf and US Vice President JD Vance on Friday.

Qalibaf is the man to lead Iran’s negotiating team, and US Vice President JD Vance will likely lead his delegation in talks to be held here in Islamabad. Further details have not been disclosed yet.

However, informed officials said there’d likely be a public holiday in Islamabad on Friday, and the Army might take over the red zone’s security.

Three-layer security arrangements are here for the capital, as per the details.

“I warmly welcome the sagacious gesture and extend deepest gratitude to the leadership of both the countries and invite their delegations to Islamabad on Friday, 10th April 2026, to further negotiate for a conclusive agreement to settle all disputes,” PM said.

Later, in another post, the PM confirmed that President Masoud Pezeshkian of Iran reaffirmed Iran’s participation in the upcoming negotiations. He also expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s efforts towards peace.

Talking on the social media platform Truth Social, US President Donald Trump said that the US will work closely with Iran. Again talking about what he claims to be ‘a very productive Regime Change!’

Trump further added, ‘There will be no enrichment of Uranium, and the United States will, working with Iran, dig up and remove all of the deeply buried (B-2 Bombers) Nuclear “Dust.” It is now, and has been, under very exacting Satellite Surveillance (Space Force!).’

Nothing has been touched since the date of the attack, he claimed.

“We are, and will be, talking Tariff and Sanctions relief with Iran. Many of the 15 points have already been agreed to,” Trump claimed in his post.

In another post, he threatened to ‘immediately tariff’ a country that is supplying weapons to Iran.
