The Prime Minister (PM) of Pakistan has urged restraint after violations of the ceasefire between the United States (US) and Iran have been reported at a few places across the conflict zone today.

The PM took to the social media platform X, formerly Twitter, to urge restraint, saying that the violations undermine the spirit of the peace process.
The PM added, “I earnestly and sincerely urge all parties to exercise restraint and respect the ceasefire for two weeks, as agreed upon, so that diplomacy can take a lead role towards the peaceful settlement of the conflict.”

Today, the United States (US) and Iran agreed on a ceasefire that was brokered by Pakistan. It was an effort made by the PM, the Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, on behalf of Pakistan.
Pakistan is also set to host talks between the US and Iran on Friday this week, on April 10, 2026.

“I warmly welcome the sagacious gesture and extend deepest gratitude to the leadership of both the countries and invite their delegations to Islamabad on Friday, 10th April 2026, to further negotiate for a conclusive agreement to settle all disputes,” PM said today on social media platform X.
He later, in another post, confirmed that President Masoud Pezeshkian of Iran reaffirmed Iran’s participation in the upcoming negotiations.
The Iranian President also expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s efforts towards peace.

Pakistan has yet again showcased its role as an important player on the global front. The ceasefire is not only being described as a great step towards peace, but also as a huge diplomatic feat for the country.
In this achievement, the PM of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif, along with the Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, have played major roles.
