The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) police have released a special traffic plan for the movement of foreign delegations on April 9 and 10.
In a post on X, Islamabad police stated, “A special traffic plan has been arranged in connection with the arrival and departure of foreign delegations on April 9 and 10.”
The development comes after the district administration of Islamabad announced public holidays on April 9 and 10 in light of the US Iran talks in the capital.
It also follows the confirmation by Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian regarding Tehran’s involvement in peace talks offered by Pakistan with the United States in Islamabad, aimed at finalising a peaceful resolution to their conflict after a ceasefire.
As a result of the announcement of the ceasefire, the US has also confirmed its attendance at the talks, invited by PM Shehbaz for April 10.
ITP announces closure of licensing services for April 9, 10
Earlier, the Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) issued an advisory stating that all facilitation centres, including the Traffic Office Faizabad, will be closed for licensing services on April 9 and 10.
An official from ITP stated on Wednesday that citizens should plan accordingly, as all licensing services will be suspended on the specified dates.
Islamabad’s Deputy Commissioner (DC) Irfan Nawaz Memon said in a post, “Local Holidays Announced in Islamabad – 9th & 10th April.”
He also provided the notification from the office of the Islamabad district magistrate. Nevertheless, he mentioned that essential services will continue to operate.
As per the official, these services encompass the Capital Development Authority, the Islamabad Capital Territory Administration, Islamabad police, the Islamabad Electric Supply Company, Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Ltd, and hospitals.
