Melania Trump, the first lady on Thursday denied that she had any relationship with the deceased Jefferey Epstein.
She also clarified that she was not one of his victims and she has now thrust the Epstein issue back into the spotlight after her husband tried to put it behind him.
Online speculation was denied by her that the sex offender and the disgraced financier introduced her to Donald Trump.
She clarified that she met Donald Trump at a party in 1998 in New York City. She did not cross paths with Jeffrey Epstein at another event she attended with Trump.
Congress was also urged by her to hold public hearings for Epstein victims so they can tell their stories under oath. If the Congress does this then more public attention would go onto this issue something that the President does not want.
Melania Trump further said that the lies connecting her to Jefferey Epstein should end today. She declined to take questions from reporters.
She again clarified that she was not an Epstein victim.
Her address was extraordinary in nature as it was delivered under the Presidential seal in the White House.
The speech renews the scrutiny on Epstein case that has become a defining matter of Donald Trump’s Presidency. Even die-hard Donald Trump supporters have started questioning the way his administration handled the files.
Attorney General Pam Bondi was also fired by the President last week. Pam Bondi had drawn the ire of Trump loyalists over the Justice Department’s slow release of Epstein files.
Trump was once a friend of Jefferey Epstein, and he claims that he cut ties with the financier in the early 2000s. He is one of the many names that were found in the Epstein files.
It has not yet been clarified by Melania Trump why she chose to speak on Thursday. She has resurrected an issue that has largely been ignored since the start of US-Israel war against Iran.
