Visa on arrival for Pakistanis

Good news for those planning a summer getaway this year! Timor-Leste offers visa on arrival for Pakistanis, allowing them to stay in the country for up to 30 days.

The country is Asia’s best-kept secret and is one of the world’s least-visited countries, making it a very affordable destination compared to other tourist places.

The standard visa fee is USD30, which you will have to pay at Timor-Leste’s airport in cash. The country adopted the US dollar following its independence from Indonesia.

Recently, Karachi-based influencer Bilal Hassan visited the country and took his followers on a journey through its stunning landscapes.

Interestingly, Dili, the capital of Timor-Leste, has a Pakistani restaurant named Lahore Kabab.

It is pertinent to mention that there are no direct flights from Pakistan to Timor-Leste. Travellers can go via Malaysia, and the total journey time is around 20 hours or more, depending on the route and airline.

Timor-Leste is located close to Australia and is known for its lush greenery and blue waters.

The distance between Dili and Australia’s Darwin is only 650km.

Timor-Leste also shares a land border with Indonesia to the west.

The 2026 population is estimated at 1,436,923 people at mid-year. It is equivalent to 0.017 per cent of the total world population.

It may have limited infrastructure and fewer tourist spots, but its natural beauty is unmatched and the trip is also very affordable, making it worth visiting.
