Rain and hail are likely in several parts of the upper regions of the country tonight, while hot weather conditions are expected to continue across southern Punjab, Sindh, and Balochistan.
According to reports, the hottest areas during the day were Sibi and Turbat, where temperatures soared to 49°C.
According to the Meteorological Department, rain is expected in Kashmir and northeastern Punjab tonight, on Sunday. Rain is also likely in parts of the Potohar region, accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms. Hail may also occur during this period. In other parts of the country, the weather is expected to remain hot and dry.
Overall, temperatures will stay higher than normal in various areas of Sindh, southern Punjab, and Balochistan. The highest temperature recorded today was 49°C in Sibi and Turbat. Shaheed Benazirabad and Nokundi recorded 47°C. In major cities, the temperatures were: Islamabad 33°C, Lahore 30°C, Karachi 37°C, Peshawar 40°C, and Quetta 36°C.
Earlier, the Naran district administration issued a travel advisory for Babusar Top, urging tourists, travellers and transporters to exercise caution.
According to officials, continuous snowfall in the area may create difficulties for those planning to travel. Citizens have been advised to carefully assess weather conditions before beginning their journey.
The advisory states that due to ongoing snowfall, traffic flow in some areas of Babusar Top and its surrounding regions has been affected, and in certain places, the road is open for one-way traffic only.
