The Naran district administration has issued a travel advisory for Babusar Top, urging tourists, travellers and transporters to exercise caution.
According to officials, continuous snowfall in the area may create difficulties for those planning to travel. Citizens have been advised to carefully assess weather conditions before beginning their journey.
The advisory states that due to ongoing snowfall, traffic flow in some areas of Babusar Top and its surrounding regions has been affected, and in certain places, the road is open for one-way traffic only.
The district administration has also warned that travel on the route becomes almost impossible after 6 pm due to the intensity of snowfall at Babusar Top. There are risks of loss of life and property due to slippery roads, vehicle brake failures, sudden falling of glaciers and rocks, and possible landslides.
Authorities have instructed tourists, transporters and the general public to avoid unnecessary travel until further notice and to wait for official clearance for safe movement on the Babusar route. They have also been directed to strictly follow the instructions of the district administration and police to avoid any untoward situation.
On the other hand, heavy rainfall and hailstorms disrupted the power supply in several parts of Lahore on Saturday, causing 49 electricity feeders to trip across the city and surrounding areas served by the Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO).
According to a LESCO spokesperson, field staff have been placed on high alert during the rain to respond swiftly to any emergency. The spokesperson added that restoration work on the affected feeders will begin once the weather conditions improve.
The downpour brought pleasant weather to Lahore, with temperatures dropping significantly across the city. However, the rain also affected traffic flow in several areas.
