How to register child birth online through NADRA’s Pak ID app?

The parents can now easily apply to register their child’s birth from home through the National Database and Registration Authority’s (NADRA) Pak ID mobile app.

The service is available through the app’s Provincial Civil Registration Services section, where applicants can select their province and the relevant Union Council or other participating local authority.

The process allows parents to submit details, upload required information and pay applicable fees online. However, registration requirements and charges may vary by province and local authority.

How to register child’s birth through Pak ID app

Download the official Pak ID mobile application on an Android or iOS smartphone.

New users must create an account and complete the registration process. Existing users can sign in using their registered credentials.

After logging in, select Provincial Civil Registration Services.

Choose the relevant province and select Birth from the available civil registration options.

If the child appears in the family record displayed by the app, select the child. If not, choose the option indicating that the child is not listed, where available, and follow the instructions.

Enter the required administrative details, including the district, tehsil and Union Council or other applicable registration authority.

Applicants may also need to select the application category and provide the child’s date of birth.

These details help direct the application to the relevant local authority.

Use the app’s Calculate Fee option to check the amount payable for the application.

Charges may vary according to provincial rules, the type of registration and the circumstances of the case. Parents should rely on the amount displayed for their application rather than assume that a single fee applies nationwide.

Select Start Application to continue.

The app will ask for information about the child.

If the child’s details are already available in NADRA’s records, applicants may be able to retrieve them using the relevant B-Form or identity document number.

If the child is not listed, parents may be asked to enter the required information manually.

Review all displayed details carefully and provide any additional information requested by the app.

Complete the Parent Details section using information that matches the parents’ official identity records.

The application may also request additional family information and details about the birth.

Parents should complete all required fields and check for errors before proceeding, as incorrect information could delay processing.

The identity requirements shown in the app may depend on the child’s age and the type of application.

According to the information provided for this process:

·         Children under three: Fingerprints are not required. The described birth-registration workflow does not show a child-photo capture option for this age group.

·         Children aged three to under 10: A photograph is required in the described workflow. NADRA’s child-registration requirements also refer to iris data for this age group.

·         Children aged 10 to under 18: The described workflow prompts applicants for a photograph and fingerprint capture. NADRA’s child-registration requirements also refer to iris data.

Parents should follow the instructions displayed in the official app for their particular application, as requirements for birth registration and child identity documents may differ.

If prompted, select Capture Photo and use the smartphone’s front or rear camera.

Position the child’s face within the guide on the screen. Check that the image is clear before confirming and saving it.

If the app requests fingerprints, open the Capture Fingerprints section and select Start Scan.

Follow the on-screen instructions to capture the required fingers. Complete all requested scans before moving to the next stage.

Choose the permanent or current address available in the application, as applicable.

Check the selected address carefully before continuing, as it will form part of the registration record.

Proceed to the payment section and select one of the payment methods available in the app.

NADRA’s Pak ID platform supports payment options including credit and debit cards, Raast, JazzCash, EasyPaisa and e-Sahulat, subject to the service and options available for the application.

Before submitting the form, select Review Your Data and check the information entered.

Pay particular attention to the child’s name, date of birth, parents’ details, address and supporting information.

Accept the required acknowledgements and select Submit. Keep the confirmation details provided by the app.
