An important advisory has been issued by the Islamabad Traffic Police on Friday. The residents of the city will face major disruptions across the city due to the movement of the foreign delegations.
The official X handle of the Islamabad Traffic Police department shared this advisory today. The advisory highlighted that diversions will be placed at key arteries of Islamabad.
These key arteries include Islamabad Expressway and Srinagar Highway.
Citizens have been urged by the authorities to avoid any unnecessary travel during this period. They can travel in cases of emergency, but they should keep in mind that the traffic flow is expected to remain heavily affected.
It has been advised by the authorities that commuters should use alternative routes to minimise inconvenience and prevent congestion in high-security zones.
The area that is under the strictest restrictions is the Red Zone which houses key diplomatic missions and government buildings.
It is prohibited for any non-governmental vehicle to enter the area. It has been strongly advised to citizens to avoid it altogether.
It has been emphasised by the officials that the city will remain on high alert. Enhanced security measures have also been taken.
The situation is being completely monitored by law enforcement agencies to ensure the security and safety of residents as well as visiting foreign officials.
Citizens should also fully cooperate with the security personnel and forces while adhering to all traffic guidelines to ensure everything is done smoothly.
