Islamabad traffic plan issues for Saturday as Red Zone expanded

The Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) has issued another crucial traffic advisory for the travellers in the federal capital of Pakistan today, informing that the Red Zone has been extended.

According to the advisory, the Red Zone and the Extended Red Zone will be closed for all types of traffic.

Red Zone extended

The Extended Red Zone includes the following areas

1) Kashmir Chowk Club Road to Zero Point Srinagar Highway,
2) Srinagar Highway, Zero Point to Serena Chowk,
3) Shakar Parian Road, Chandtara Chowk to Seventh Avenue,
4) Jinnah Avenue, Khayaban Chowk to Blue Area, and
5) Margalla Road from Faisal Chowk to Trail 3

All these additional regions will remain closed to any kind of traffic.

All government and private offices, markets located in the extended red zone will remain closed, the advisory from the ITP adds.

Islamabad traffic plan for Saturday

To travel from Bhara Kahu to Islamabad or Rawalpindi, Faizabad, Ninth Avenue can be used from Kashmir Chowk via Club Road, the advisory states.

Citizens have also been requested to avoid unnecessary travel except in emergencies.

The ITP has further urged the citizens to cooperate with law enforcement agencies.

Three day long bazaar, market closure

In addition to this, it has been announced that all the bazaars and markets will remain completely closed on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, on April 10, 11, and 12, in Rawalpindi.

This is due to the arrival of international guests and security concerns. Traders have been directed to follow the instructions of the administration.

According to a statement issued by Malik Shahid Ghafoor Paracha, President of the Central Association of Traders Raja Bazaar Sadar, this decision has been taken in the light of government instructions and orders from the district administration.

Islamabad peace talks

In view of the Islamabad peace talks between the United States (US) and Iran, extending from April 10 to 11, security has been tightened in the region.

Pakistan has brokered a two week ceasefire between the US and Iran, after a long 40 day war.
