Pakistan, Saudi Arabia agree to boost investor opportunities

Saudi Arabia’s Finance Minister, Mohammed Al-Jadaan, arrived in Islamabad on an official visit to Pakistan. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif hosted a dinner in his honour, during which both sides held detailed discussions on economic cooperation between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.

According to official details, the meeting focused on promoting bilateral trade and investment, as well as enhancing cooperation in the energy, infrastructure, and financial sectors. Both sides emphasised creating greater opportunities for Saudi investors in Pakistan.

The Prime Minister reaffirmed the strong, brotherly ties between Pakistan and the Saudi leadership and expressed satisfaction with Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts to promote peace in the region.

Sources also indicated that the Saudi Finance Minister welcomed the US-Iran talks, describing them as a positive development for regional stability. Pakistan reiterated its commitment to continuing a constructive role in promoting peace and stability in the region.

Both sides assured the provision of a conducive environment for investment in Pakistan and expressed their determination to further strengthen the long-standing relations between the two countries.

It is worth mentioning here that high-level delegations from the United States and Iran are set to arrive in Islamabad for key diplomatic engagements, aimed at facilitating dialogue between the two sides.

According to sources, US Vice President J D Vance will land in Islamabad along with senior officials, including Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner. A 23-member advance team, comprising security experts and support staff, has already reached the federal capital to assist in preparations.

On the Iranian side, Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi are also expected to arrive in Islamabad later tonight.

Earlier, White House spokesperson Karoline Leavitt confirmed that US President Donald Trump had dispatched a negotiation team to Pakistan for talks with Iran. The discussions are scheduled to take place in Islamabad on Saturday morning.
