Qatar’s Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Dr Majed Al-Ansari said that Pakistan is the best mediator between the US and Iran adding that Qatar has full trust in Pakistan.
The spokesperson also said that Pakistan is playing a key role as mediator between the US and Iran. He confirmed that Qatar is not playing the role of mediator between the US and Iran, adding that Pakistan is enough and there is no need for a new mediator.
Qatar’s Foreign Ministry Spokesperson also confirmed that Iran targeted Qatar during the war, but after the ceasefire, Iran has not targeted Qatar.
Pakistan’s role as a mediator
Pakistan is in the headlines as it is playing a crucial role as a mediator between the US and Iran. Last week, the officials from Iran and the US sat together for almost 21 hours to discuss the war. However, after the peace talks in Islamabad, the US Vice President JD Vance said in his press conference that talks went well with the Iranians, but no agreement was reached between both sides.
Indirect talks are ongoing?
Several media reports confirmed that the indirect talks between the US and Iran are currently ongoing, and Pakistan is again playing its role as a mediator. There are also reports coming that the direct talks between the US and Iran could happen this week in Islamabad. However, there is no confirmation about the direct talks between the US and Iran by the Pakistani governmnet.

After returning from talks with Iran that failed to produce a breakthrough, US Vice President JD Vance said it is now up to Tehran to decide the next step.
In an interview with Fox News, he said Washington had already presented serious proposals and meaningful concessions. According to him, further progress depends on how Iran responds.
