Field Marshal Asim Munir meets Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian in Tehran

The Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) and Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, met the Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian in Tehran on April 16.

Masoud Pezeshkian welcomed the Pakistani Army Chief in Iran.

Both of the leaders exchanged their views about the ongoing US-Iran dialogues.

The Foreign Minister (FM) of Iran, Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, along with the senior leadership of Iran, was also present during their meeting.

While the Federal Minister of Internal Affairs, Syed Mohsin Naqvi, from the Pakistani delegation was present during the meeting.

Asim Munir Tehran visit

Field Marshal, Syed Asim Munir, landed in Iran on April 15, 2026, to pursue the peace talks that were started in Islamabad on April 12.

The purpose of the Tehran visit by the Pakistani delegation was to address the Iranian leadership about the message by the US, to arrange another round of peace talks in Islamabad.

Earlier, the Army Chief also met FM Abbas Araghchi, and the Iranian Parliament Speaker, Mohammad Baqer Ghalibaf.

He spoke to them about the latest measures taken by the Pakistani government to prevent further escalation between the two states.

Field Marshal Asim Munir meets Iranian top commander

The Chief of Defence Forces (CDF), Syed Asim Munir, also met with the Commander of Iran’s Khatam al-Anbia central headquarters, Major General Ali Abdollahi, on Thursday.

The Iranian commander said, “Iran’s Armed Forces are totally prepared for all-out defence of the country against aggressors, nearly 50 days after a US-Israeli military coalition waged an unprovoked war of aggression against the Islamic Republic.”

Ali Abdollahi further clarified to the Pakistani Chief that all the equipment used by the Iranian forces in this war was domestically-manufactured by Iranian youth, and today no one doubts that in the event of any evil move by the enemy, the armed forces are ready for all-out defence.
