Federal Cabinet Approves Banning of TLP

Web desk: The federal cabinet has approved the banning of TLP, the Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan Party, according to the sources.

They have issued directives to the Interior Ministry regarding the ban on the Religious Party.

The Federal Cabinet considered the issue of a ban on the TLP under Article 17 of the Constitution.

Punjab’s Recommendation on Banning of TLP Reaches Federal Cabinet

The Ministry of Interior briefed the Federal Cabinet on matters related to Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) during a cabinet meeting today.

The Punjab government’s recommendations regarding a proposed ban on the TLP were also presented in the session.

The cabinet reviewed the proposal to ban the organisation under Article 17 of the Constitution.

TLP Offices Sealed in Islamabad

Before the ban, TLP offices were sealed in several areas of Islamabad and Rawalpindi.

According to sources, the district administration sealed TLP offices in various locations, including Bhara Kahu and Sawan.

It was then that the Punjab government decided to recommend to the federal government that a ban be imposed on the party.

Religious Groups, Traders Reject Strike Call

During the unrest, religious organisations, business leaders, and members of civil society rejected the strike call announced by TLP.

They said they would not participate in any activity that could disturb law and order during the planned strike.

Rumours of Protest Proven False

Rumours of protest at the time turned out to be false.

Sources confirmed that no protest or public gathering was taking place and that the situation was peaceful.

Officials added that there are no road blockages or traffic disruptions, and all routes are open for commuters.

Government Freezes TLP’s Bank Accounts

The Punjab government stepped up its crackdown on Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) and its supporters, freezing 95 bank accounts associated with party chief Saad Rizvi and the organisation.

Provincial Information Minister Azma Bukhari said that those involved in financing the group would be charged under terrorism laws.

She added that authorities have also identified around 3,800 national and international accounts suspected of being used to fund the group’s activities.
