Reopens of Hormuz; Minister signals possible fuel price reduction

Minister signals possible fuel price reduction

With Iran announcing the full reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, the Federal Minister has indicated a possible reduction in petrol and diesel prices in Pakistan.

Federal Minister for Energy Awais Leghari stated on the social media platform X that, thanks to Allah Almighty, Pakistan has been presented with a great opportunity.

He said that through the tireless efforts of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Pakistan has become a beacon of world peace.

Awais Leghari further wrote that a ceasefire has been declared in Lebanon and that the Strait of Hormuz has also been opened for commercial traffic on Friday. He expressed hope that, God willing, petrol and diesel prices will soon decrease as a result of these developments.

He also added that improved LNG availability will enhance electricity supply. He concluded his message by saying, ‘Long live Pakistan forever.”
