Trump says UFO review revealed 'interesting' documents

US President Donald Trump has promised that some “very interesting documents” concerning UFOs will be unveiled by the US Department of Defense “very, very soon”, hinting at the existence of aliens.

While addressing an audience in Phoenix, the US president reminded attendees of his directive in February to his defense secretary, Pete Hegseth, to begin the release of files concerning “aliens and extra-terrestrial life”.

During a Turning Point USA event on Friday, Trump stated, “This process is well under way, and we have discovered many very interesting documents, I must say.

“The first releases will begin very, very soon”, he added.

Several US lawmakers have been advocating for the disclosure of government documents related to unidentified aerial phenomena such as UFOs, or UAPs, following former president Barack Obama’s remark in February that “the odds were good there’s life out there”, over the possible existence of aliens.

However, Donald Trump has not indicated that he believes these phenomena are of alien origin.

The Pentagon reported in November 2024 that it had received hundreds of UAP reports after a 2024 hearing, including 21 that warranted “further analysis” due to “anomalous characteristics and/or behaviors”.

Nevertheless, officials stated that they found no evidence to support the existence of life from another planet in any of the reports received.

Additionally, a Pentagon report from March 2024 concluded that there was no credible evidence suggesting that US authorities had concealed findings of UFOs or UAPs that indicated extraterrestrial life, noting that “most sightings were the result of misidentification of ordinary objects and phenomena.”
