JD Vance will come to Islamabad tomorrow, confirms White House

United States (US) Vice President JD Vance is coming to Islamabad tomorrow (Monday) for US-Iran talks.

White House Correspondent, Julia Manchester, has said that “White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt confirms to me that Vice President JD will be leading the US delegation to Islamabad tomorrow.”

Earlier, Donald Trump denied that the vice president would attend the latest round of talks in Islamabad.

According to Journalist Caitlin Doornbos, Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, Trump’s son-in-law, will be in Islamabad.

“Steve’s going to be going there tomorrow night,” Trump said in a phone call from the White House, confirming that Special Envoy Steve Witkoff will land in Islamabad on Monday night ahead of a second round of peace talks, reports New York Post.

Earlier, the authorities of the twin cities declared a suspension of all kinds of movement, including private, public and transport of goods.

DC Islamabad declared that it is suspending the public and heavy transport in the federal capital, saying that the decision has been taken as part of administrative measures and urging citizens to cooperate with security agencies.

There was no mention of duration in the announcement, but it stated that the restriction will be in force until further notice.
