The government of Pakistan has announced work from home for all the workers in the ministries within the Red Zone, Islamabad.
The government has also released an official notification confirming their announcement.
As per the notification, work from home will be allowed to the employees of all departments in the Red Zone, Islamabad.
The departments include all the ministries, divisions, and other Federal government establishments located within the Red Zone.
The staff will be working from home on Monday, April 20, 2026.
On the other hand, the officers and the secretarial staff will have to remain at their offices, as they shall have to attend the office when required at short notice.

According to the post on X, formerly known as Twitter, the government decided to allow work from home to the ministerial and working staff of the Red Zone due to the arrival of a foreign delegation and security reasons.
Will offices remain closed in Rawalpindi and Islamabad?
A lot of rumours have been spread on social media regarding the closure of the offices in both Rawalpindi and Islamabad.
The news is fake, as the government has only announced work from home for the Red Zone employees.

It is in the best interest of the public to only rely on the authentic source of information, which is the official channels of the government of Pakistan.
Talking about the educational institutions, many universities have converted their classes online.
Universities like the International Islamic University Islamabad will conduct online classes from April 20 to 24, while the Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University has also closed its campus.
The exams to be held at the Rawalpindi Medical University have been postponed.
