Heat intensifies, no rain spell expected: Met Office

Heat is intensifying across the country as dry weather grips most regions, with mercury touching 40°C in some areas with little chance of rain, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department.

According to the met office, Punjab will remain dry, with plain areas likely to experience increasing heat. In Islamabad, weather will stay hot and dry, while strong winds are expected in the afternoon.

Temperatures in Multan and Sargodha are expected to reach 37°C, while Lahore and Dera Ghazi Khan may record around 36°C.

Similar conditions are forecast in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where most districts will remain dry.

Plain areas will experience heat, while upper districts may see partly cloudy skies.

In Sindh, temperatures are expected to rise further in the coming days. Most districts will remain hot and dry in the coming days.

In Karachi, the provincial capital, weather will remain hot and humid, with the maximum temperature likely to reach 35°C.

Temperatures in Sukkur could reach 43°C, while Dadu may see 42°C and Mithi 41°C. In Hyderabad, mercury is expected to touch 40°C.

In Balochistan, dry weather will continue, with southern districts facing intense heat. Sibi is likely to record the highest temperature at 44°C. Khuzdar and Awaran may see partly cloudy conditions.

There is also a possibility of heatwave conditions developing by the end of April if the trend persists.
