It has been clarified by the Islamabad traffic police that all the services at the driving licence offices and traffic centres in the federal capital including in Faizabad are completely operational. They have put rumours circulating on social media to bed.
The advisory was issued on Tuesday. It has been stated by the police that all centres that are operating under the traffic department are continuing as usual. This includes renewal and driving licence issuance.
The advisory came after online speculations suggesting that some facilities had been temporarily suspended due to Islamabad Talks 2.0 and the security arrangements because of it.
The advisory states that residents can continue to visit traffic offices for routine services without facing any sort of unusual restrictions.
The services which will be continuing as usual include renewal of licences, driver tests, learner permits, vehicle-related documentation and many other matters that are linked to traffic management.
Citizens have also been urged by the police not to rely on unverified information that is being shared online. Citizens should only be seeking updates through the official platforms.
Confusion had been created among residents due to the rumours of services being suspended, especially for those who were planning to visit traffic centres due to important document-related work.
People have also been further advised to only approach the relevant offices directly if they require any assistance or information regarding procedures and timings.
The public has also been encouraged to remain calm and careful so misinformation is not spread.
The latest traffic advisory has now confirmed that all operations are running normally. Citizens will be able to access the facilities as they would on any other regular working day.
