ISLAMABAD: An Anti Terrorism Court (ATC) has ordered to block computerised national identity card (CNIC) and passport of Aleema Khan, Sister of PTI Founder Imran Khan.

ATC Judge Amjad Ali Shah issued orders while hearing a case related to the FIRs registered against Aleema, others in connection with the PTI’s protest on November 26 last year.

Moreover, the court also ordered the confiscation of property belonging to Aleema’s guarantor, Umar Sharif.

Earlier, an Anti-Terrorism Court in Rawalpindi issued arrest warrants for Aleema Khan, sister of PTI Founder Imran Khan in November 26 protest case.

As per details, the sister of former prime minister Imran Khan was to be formally charged but failed to appear before the court, leading to the issuance of her arrest warrants.

The court ordered that Aleema Khan be arrested and produced before it on October 11.

Speaking on the occasion, Prosecutor Zaheer Shah said that since Aleema’s lawyers did not have the power of attorney, therefore, under section 22, they could not give arguments in the case.

It is pertinent to mention here that the case is of November 2024, when PTI supporters launched a protest march from Peshawar to Islamabad. The movement was led by Bushra Bibi, wife of Imran Khan, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur.

The march reached the outskirts of Islamabad on November 25, but the following day violent clashes erupted between protesters and law enforcement agencies. Several people, including police officers, were reportedly injured, and public and private property was damaged.

Earlier a separate FIR was filed against Aleema Khan, Naeem Panchouta, and others under strict legal sections for their involvement in the attack on journalist Tayyab Baloch.

A case was registered at Saddar Beroni Police Station, Rawalpindi, against Aleema Khan, Naeem Haider Panchouta, and several others over the assault on journalist Tayyab Baloch during Aleema Khan’s media talk outside Adiala Jail.

The case includes sections 506, 147, 149, 382, and 427 of the Pakistan Penal Code.

According to the FIR, journalist Tayyab Baloch stated in his complaint that during Aleema Khan’s media talk, Naeem Panchouta shouted, “Teach him a lesson for questioning Aleema Khan about properties.”

Following this, Tanveer Aslam, Zafar, and Tuma held him down and threw him to the ground, while others began beating him.

The complaint further maintained that the attack was carried out as part of a premeditated plan. On Baloch’s complaint, police have registered the case and launched an investigation.
