Two regional officials told The Associated Press that the United States (US) and Iran are expected to hold a new round of ceasefire talks in Islamabad as the two-week ceasefire between the two is about to end, AP reports.
According to the reports, Pakistan-led mediators have confirmed that top negotiators will come to Islamabad on Wednesday early.
The officials spoke on condition of anonymity as they were not allowed to speak to the media, reports adds.
Pakistan is moving ahead with preparations for the peace talks between Iran and US like round one of the Islamabad peace talks. Donald Trump said he is “highly unlikely” to extend the ceasefire. It is set to expire on Wednesday.
