Peshawar Zalmi rising star pacer Ali Raza delivered a stunning performance, claiming a hat-trick against Karachi Kings in their PSL clash.
The young fast bowler achieved the feat in the final over of the innings, removing Khushdil Shah, Shahid Aziz, and Hasan Ali on three consecutive deliveries to wrap up Karachi’s batting in dramatic fashion.
With this achievement, Ali Raza becomes only the seventh bowler in PSL history to take a hat-trick, joining an elite list that includes Mohammad Amir, Imran Tahir, Junaid Khan, Mohammad Sami, Abbas Afridi, and Aqeel Hussain.
Speaking after the match, Ali Raza said he learned from fellow fast bowlers and credited the cricket board and team management for their support during his rehabilitation, which he said played a key role in his achievement.
Earlier, Karachi Kings posted a competitive total of 182/9 after opting to bat first against Peshawar Zalmi in their PSL clash at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore.
Jason Roy led the charge with a brilliant 85, anchoring the innings with authority. Azam Khan provided solid support with a 35-run knock, while Reza Hendricks chipped in with 13. Salman Agha and Khushdil Shah added 12 runs apiece in the middle order.
Captain David Warner managed 11, and Abbas Afridi contributed 6, but Karachi lost wickets at regular intervals towards the end. Shahid Aziz and Hasan Ali failed to open their accounts as Zalmi bowlers kept things tight in the latter stages.
