Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has reiterated that the Islamic Republic of Iran welcomes dialogue and negotiated agreements, while sharply criticising what he described as obstacles created by breaches of commitments, blockades and threats.

In a message posted on social media platform X, Pezeshkian said that such actions undermine the possibility of genuine negotiations, adding that Iran remains open to diplomacy but insists that trust must be built on adherence to prior agreements.

The president said the international community can see this inconsistency, framing it as a major barrier to progress in talks. Pezeshkian’s remarks come amid ongoing tensions between Iran and the US. He has repeatedly emphasised in recent statements that Iran supports dialogue but rejects negotiations conducted under pressure or coercion.

The comments reflect Tehran’s broader diplomatic stance that engagement remains possible, but only if commitments are respected and external pressure is lifted.
