Karachi Kings opener Jason Roy has revealed his picks for the best shot-makers in world cricket, highlighting some of the game’s biggest names.
Speaking to a private TV channel, Roy named A.N. Bell as the player with the best cover drive, while also praising Pakistan’s Babar Azam and India’s Shubman Gill for their elegance in the same shot.
Roy also shared his thoughts on the pull shot, calling former Australian captain Ricky Ponting the best at executing it. He acknowledged Kevin Pietersen’s excellence against fast bowling but ultimately chose Ponting as his top pick.
When asked which player he would pick for the straight drive, the opening batsman selected his compatriot Joe Root. For the reverse sweep, Roy chose Jos Buttler, and for the switch hit, he named Kevin Pietersen.
The English batsman further said that left-handed Sri Lankan player Kumar Sangakkara played the best cut shot, and for powerful hitting slugging, he picked Australian batsman Tim David.
Earlier in the 37th match of PSL 11, Karachi Kings defeated Quetta Gladiators by 9 wickets, eliminating them from the tournament.
The match played at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, Karachi Kings successfully chased the target of 196 runs set by Quetta Gladiators, reaching it in 18.3 overs with the loss of just one wicket.
David Warner played an unbeaten innings of 90 runs off 48 balls, which included 10 fours and 4 sixes. Rilee Rossouw scored 87 runs off 48 balls. Jahandad Khan took the only wicket for Quetta Gladiators.
