The Afghan Taliban have reportedly continued targeting civilian areas in Pakistan, leaving three people, including two women, seriously injured in South Waziristan.
According to details, three people—including two women—were seriously injured in Zalol village in the Angoor Adda area of South Waziristan. Reports suggest the incident occurred after unprovoked firing and artillery shelling from the Afghan Taliban.
Local sources said an artillery shell landed inside the village, injuring Rahimullah, his wife, and the wife of another resident, Zainullah. All the injured were immediately shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital in Wana for medical treatment.
Residents strongly condemned the incident, calling it an attack on innocent civilians, and demanded a strong response from authorities. They urged the government and security forces to ensure better protection for border communities, which have repeatedly faced such incidents.
Security sources indicated that tensions have been rising along the border amid ongoing counter-infiltration operations, with several attempts by militant groups reportedly being foiled in recent days. Officials maintain that security forces remain on high alert to prevent any cross-border movement of armed elements.
The border region has witnessed similar incidents in the past, including reported violence in areas such as Dir, Bajaur, Kurram, Torkham, and North Waziristan, raising concerns over the safety of civilians living in these sensitive zones.
The locals strongly condemned the Afghan Taliban firing incident and demanded retaliatory action from the Pakistan Army.
It should be noted that under Operation Ghazab-Lil-Haq, Pakistan successfully targeted the hideouts of the Khawarij in Afghanistan.
