Peshawar Zalmi has defeated Islamabad United by 70 runs in the qualifier round of Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 11 and has been able to secure a place in the final today, Tuesday.
The team had to chase a target of 222 runs. Islamabad United were bowled out for 151 runs.
Earlier during the match, Islamabad United chose to field first after winning the toss. Peshawar Zalmi scored 221 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs.
Captain of the Peshawar Zalmi, Babar Azam scored 103 runs. This made his fourth century in PSL, marking a huge feat.
His innings included 4 sixes and 12 fours. Additionally, Kusal Mendis scored 41, Mohammad Haris scored 35, and Aamer Jamal added 20 runs for Peshawar Zalmi.
For Islamabad United, Shadab Khan took 3 wickets, while Richard Gleeson took 2. Salman Mirza and Faheem Ashraf also took one wicket each.
In reply to these innings, Islamabad United had a good start. New Zealand cricketer Devon Conway and Samir Minhas added 58 runs for the first wicket.
Conway scored 20 runs, while Minhas scored 44. Mohsin Riaz also contributed 25 runs, but the rest of the batting lineup failed to build partnerships.
Imad Wasim also scored 22 runs towards the end, but it was not enough to chase the target and beat the Zalmis.
For Peshawar Zalmi, Aamer Jamal took 3 wickets, Sufiyan Muqeem and Mohammad Basit took 2 wickets each. In addition to this, Khurram Shahzad took one wicket.
With this win, Peshawar Zalmi have reached the PSL final for the fifth time.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has officially opened online ticket sales for the final and remaining matches of the 11th edition of the PSL.
According to the PCB, tickets for the high-profile final are now available online from 4 PM. Fans can secure their seats via the official portal pcb.tcs.com.pk.
The PSL 11 final is scheduled to take place on May 3 at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore. The board confirmed that all security and administrative arrangements for the marquee event have been completed.
