Hyderabad Kingsmen choose to field first against Multan Sultans

In the first eliminator of Pakistan Super League (PSL) 11, Multan Sultans set a target of 160 runs for Hyderabad Kingsmen to win.

The match is being played at Gaddafi Stadium. Hyderabad Kingsmen won the toss and chose to field first.

Multan Sultans scored 159 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in the allotted 20 overs, thanks to a brilliant innings by Shan Masood.

Shan Masood played a responsible innings, scoring 69 runs off 46 balls. Mohammad Nawaz was dismissed for 18 runs, while Steve Smith made 13 and Sahibzada Farhan scored 15 runs. Josh Philippe fell to Haneen Shah for 6 runs, and captain Ashton Turner returned to the pavilion after scoring 9 runs.

For the Hyderabad Kingsmen, Mohammad Ali, Akif Javed, and Haneen Shah each took two wickets. It should be noted that the losing team will be eliminated from the tournament, while the winning team will face Islamabad United in Eliminator 2 on Friday.

Meanwhile, Peshawar Zalmi have already qualified for the final after defeating Islamabad United in the qualifier yesterday. Earlier, Hyderabad Kingsmen won the toss and elected to field first against Multan Sultans.

The high-stakes clash is being played at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, where Kingsmen skipper Marnus Labuschagne opted to bowl after winning the toss, asking Multan Sultans captain Ashton Turner to lead his side out to bat first.

It is worth mentioning here that the losing team in today’s match will be eliminated from the tournament, while the winning team will face Islamabad United in the second eliminator.

It should also be remembered that Peshawar Zalmi defeated Islamabad United by 70 runs yesterday to qualify for the final.
