Tianjin University has opened applications for the Chinese Government Scholarship Silk Road Program 2026, according to the reports today.
The program offers fully funded study for international students at the bachelor’s, master’s, and PhD levels.

The scholarship covers all major costs. It will pay for the tuition fee, the hostel, a monthly allowance, and medical insurance as well. This support will help the students to focus on their studies without financial problems.
What programs are being offered
The university is offering programs in science, engineering, and architecture. For bachelor’s students, there is a degree in architecture that is taught in Chinese.
For master’s and PhD students, programs are offered in chemistry, chemical engineering, hydraulic engineering, and environmental science. These programs are taught in Chinese or English.
Scholarship
Students who are selected will receive full tuition, free accommodation, a monthly stipend, and medical insurance. Bachelor’s students will receive 2,500 RMB each month.
Master’s students will receive 3,000 RMB each month. PhD students will receive 3,500 RMB each month.
Rules
The university has set clear rules for applicants. Bachelor’s students must be under 25 years old. Master’s students can be up to 35 years old.
PhD students can be up to 40 years old. For Chinese-taught programs, students must have HSK Level 5 with at least 180 marks.
For English-taught programs, students must have a TOEFL score of 80 or an IELTS score of 6.0. Students who studied in English or Chinese medium can also submit a certificate from their university. Bachelor’s applicants must also take the China Scholastic Competency Assessment.

Students from many countries can apply. These include Pakistan, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Cambodia, Nepal, Bangladesh, Russia, Nigeria, and Morocco.
How to apply
Students must apply online through the Tianjin University system. After selection, they must also apply through the China Scholarship Council portal. The agency number for the university is 10056, and the program type is Type B.
The duration of the programs depends on the level of study. The bachelor’s degree takes five years and includes one year of Chinese language study.
The master’s degree takes about two and a half to three years and may include language training. The PhD takes about three to four years and may also include language study.
Last date
The last date to apply is May 18, 2026. Students are advised to apply early because there are limited seats and high competition.
