The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) of Pakistan has issued a public advisory, reminding citizens that they must complete key documentation processes before June 30, 2026, warning that they may introduce additional fees and penalties following the upcoming federal budget of 2026-27.
NADRA suggests that people with out of date Computerized National Identity Cards (CNICs) should focus on renewing their documents by the stipulated deadline to escape possible financial setbacks.
The authority stated that a review of the fee structure is being taken into consideration, and a failure to meet the deadline would lead to an increase in the fee structure or a fine.
Child registration is also one of the areas that the advisory specifically focuses on. Parents have been strongly advised to make sure that their children have been registered under the B-Form system immediately.
NADRA pointed out that the failure to have children registered on time could turn out to have complications in the future in terms of accessing essential services.
Moreover, the authority reminded parents that those children whose age is sufficient to be given a Smart National Identity Card should have their B-Forms transformed to that effect.
This change is required to make sure that the national requirements of identification are met and that the population records are up to date.
According to the statement of NADRA, the post-budget period might introduce modifications in the current fee regime, rendering it more expensive to those who fail to undertake these processes.
The citizens are thus encouraged to visit NADRA offices in time and follow all the required documentation processes before the deadline.
The move comes in the context of more extensive moves to streamline registration processes and to ensure that all citizens are duly registered to prevent administrative and financial difficulties in the future.
